Last Thursday night, my partner’s life changed forever when he was viciously attacked by an unknown person from behind with a shovel. This resulted in a depressed skull fracture with fragments displaced intra cranially, multiple small bleeds on the brain, pneumocephalus and a brain contusion. He was then transported via RFDS to the RBWH where he underwent major brain surgery to remove the fractured part of the skull and fragments, plate and mesh the skull together again. It’s been an unimaginably traumatic experience for both of us and of course our beautiful girl — seeing the person I love fighting to recover from something so senseless and cruel has been absolutely heartbreaking.

We’re now facing not only the emotional toll of this tragedy but also the financial strain that comes with it. We need help covering medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, food, loss of income, and everyday essentials while my partner heals and we try to rebuild our lives.
