Bring that smile back...

On Aug 30 in the early hours my younger brother Jamie Farquhar, the middle of us 5, was involved in a terrible highway driving accident where his truck rolled resulting in facial fractures, intracranial hemorrhage, substantial injuries to his shoulder, and severe lung damage. The extent of his physical and neurologic injuries are still largely unknown as he remains in an induced coma after being airlifted to a Toronto hospital. Jamie’s wife Brittany is at his side and his family members who can visit are there to support him.

Everyone who knows or has even met Jamie knows what kind of guy he is. He is larger than life, both physically and in personality, always the one with a great story, has unmatched work ethic, will give the shirt off his back for those in need, and will without hesitation take a bullet for his loved ones.

Jamie is a self-made man who has worked his way the hard way to a point where he is now an independent small business owner with contracts to fulfill, deadlines to meet, and a family to support. This tragic event has severely impacted life in a way that cannot be fully realized at this early stage.

The Farquhar family, the whole bunch, are asking those who know and love Jamie to help out in whatever way you can, either by donating or by sharing this story, to support him and Brittany in the coming weeks. We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know that he will not be able to work for an unknown period, and the costs of life and being in Toronto for his family will continue to grow as time goes on. It’s too early to make any predictions, but we all have our fingers crossed, and are putting all of our loving energy out to Jamie in this very real struggle for his life.
