Cancer Sucks!

On October 5, 2020, Our dear friend, Eileen Sweet, at the age of 54 years young, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. It further saddened us to learn that her cancer had metastasized to her liver and both of her lungs. After finally being to able to process this unpleasant news, there lies yet another hurdle to cross. Three weeks later, Eileen begins to experience loss of mobility on the right side of her body. Unable to move her right arm, leg or foot, a 911 call was dispatched due to excruciating pain. A five day stay at South County Hospital, further led to diagnose her with Colon Cancer that had metastasized to the frontal lobe of her left brain, which caused swelling and paralysis. Plans to have been made for treatment of Intense Radiation Therapy at RI Hospital, before continuing with Chemo Treatments at South County Hospital for the next six months. It will be a long arduous journey ahead to say the least! Although we stand positive and are working hard to take steps forward to recovery, Eileen will be faced with many challenges. Physically, Emotionally and above all Financially. Her team of Oncologists and Medical Professionals hope that the Intense Radiation Treatment will be successful and give her a chance to continue the long ongoing process of Chemo Therapy Treatments. This will be a challenging road for Eileen, and her twin sister, Colleen, who has remained by her side as caretaker, making sure Eileen gets the care that she needs. Eileen and her family need our help and support to stay positive and focus on healing, not financial burdens, as we all know will be mounting. Eileen surrounds herself with the love and support of her family and friends. She has been a true friend to so many over the years, and we are hoping to be here for her now, in her hour of need. As we can only imagine, her journey will be long and trying on many levels. After all this, Eileen has a positive attitude and reminds of us all she can and will beat this ugly disease, with the love and support of her family and friends.
