Stroke Recovery Support

Hi, I’m Jamie and I had a stroke on 7/14/22. During the CT at the hospital, it was discovered that I had a significantly large blood clot on my brain. I was taken from CT and prepped for a thrombectomy. The clot removal was successful and I am blessed to be where I am right now.
Having a stroke was life changing as I am not able to work. I have physical therapy and speech therapy twice a week. I have occupational therapy once a week. Some days, it is just too much.

My family has an amazing support system but even with their support, the bills don’t stop and some days I feel like it is more of a burden to rely on them as much as we’ve needed to recently.
Under normal circumstances, I would never ask for help. Admitting that we could use a little help is soul crushing. I am very prideful and it is hard to reach out and ask for help. I have worked and provided for my family since I was 16. Now, without my income, it falls on my husband’s shoulders to be the sole provider.

I am making progress everyday. Some days are better than others. The good days are great but the bad days are worse. Even with progress, I am not sure when I will be able to go back to work.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Every little bit helps and we appreciate the help more than I could ever put into words.
