Many of the dogs we save are abandoned on the streets or at shelters because families are too busy and think the dogs have become burdens they cannot manage. It is quite unfortunate because many of the dogs we place for adoption are very loving and just asking for attention. Once we rescue the dogs from this fate, we foster them until they are ready for adoption by the general public. We hold weekly adoption events at the Petco on N Dale Mabry Hwy and Fletcher Ave. in Tampa, participate in numerous other events sponsored by other local rescue groups and businesses, and provide extensive exposure of our available animals in local media as well as the internet.
Lost Angels depends on a small, dedicated groupf of volunteers to operate our organization and to care for the over 750 pets that come through our doors each year. Because Lost Angels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group and we abide by a no-kill policy, we are totally reliant upon private donations and fund raising events for our operating budget. Lost Angels receives no local, state or federal funding. All of our funding comes from the donations of those who want to help us save as many companion animals as possible. 100% of the funds we receive go directly to the care of our dogs and the other animals we take into our care.
