A Young Woman who deserves and needs support

Hi friends, I am updating this campaign with more detail. On Tuesday morning I found a young woman in an acute mental health crisis. She was considering ending her life, but she agreed to talk with me and see what kind of help we could provide her. Another local mom and friend who is also a trauma therapist who works with young people, came over and the three of us spent the day brainstorming what was best. We met with the GA Crisis Assistance Line who did an on-site assessment and determined that the best thing for her would be hospitalization and treatment. The ER admitted her for a course of treatment that I think she definitely clearly benefit from. I would like to offer her some financial support for any bills from this acute stay as well as to cover rent for the work she is missing. That's as much detail as I can share, but please know this is a very real emergency. Like so many women, this woman has been dealt a heartbreaking burden in life, and she has a spark and potential that must be nurtured. She reminds me of my young daughter, which drives me to do everything I can to help her get on a good healing path. As I told her, I would wish that if a few years from now my teenager was struggling in a new city with no support network, a concerned stranger would step in and help. I also told her that women always get dealt all the shit and they deserve all the support to work through it. Please consider chipping in. If we all give a little, it could mean a lot to her.
