UPDATE 4/6/26- Ivonne LaLanne passed away and we are heart broken. After suffering another massive brain bleed, she left this earth Tuesday evening. Michael and Emily are completely devastated, as we all are. I was hopeful when I started this fund that it would go towards her recovery. But now we are asking for your help with her funeral expenses and working through this emotional and financial gulf ahead of them. Before losing Ivonne, Michael worked a lot of overtime to meet their family’s needs. Now he’s caring for their daughter, Emily’s grief, as well as the mounting bills. Anything given will help them climb this mountain they’re facing, and we so greatly appreciate it.
History post - On March 4, 2026, our 48-year-old sister-in-law, Ivonne LaLanne, had a hemorrhagic stroke. She has been in the ICU at Tri-City Hospital since then! Initially, they performed life-saving measures, placed her on a ventilator, and then placed a drain in her head to control the fluid buildup. Ivonne’s brain bleed is deep in her brain, and they cannot reach the bleed to surgically repair it. Today, they will place a shunt in Ivonne’s head and then make a decision on if Ivonne will receive a tracheotomy or be able to breathe on her own. Most likely, she will need a tracheotomy. Right now, Ivonne isn’t moving her left side, and she will most likely require extensive rehabilitation to learn basic skills like walking, swallowing, and speaking again. We are still far from knowing what her recovery will actually look like.
Our brother Michael and Ivonne have a six-year-old daughter named Emily. Michael has been a Sheriff for nearly 20 years. The next few months are kind of unknown, and his ability to work and care for Ivonne and their daughter will definitely be a major factor and concern. Whatever you can give to help our brother in this most difficult and uncertain time is greatly appreciated. Michael isn’t one to ask for help, but this is a situation in which we know he will definitely need it. Thank you for your willingness to help. Also, please add Ivonne to your prayers; she needs them.
