Help a young mother to survive breast cancer
Donation protected
A warm hello to all who receive this,
A very dear friend (who has asked to remain anonymous) has had an incredibly challenging health crisis. At the age of 31, she was diagnosed with triple negative, stage 3 breast cancer. As a rare and aggressive breast cancer, this type often takes the lives of young women far too soon.
Diagnosis derailed this young woman's life and that of her family. Mothering her nearly two year old daughter suddenly had new stakes. Hopes of expanding her family, continuing her education and pursuing her career had to be let go.
Treatment included intense chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and a double mastectomy. Integrative therapies followed to support her ongoing health challenges and to prevent the significant chance of recurrence and to support the long lasting side effects of treatment. We're so proud of her dedication to her health and recovery journey throughout this.
A cancer diagnosis affects all areas of life, including financial. The current, ongoing strain of preventative treatment for this woman can be upwards of $1000 per week. Your support will directly help fund medical and allied health specialists, medication and supplements, and integrative therapies that support survival and longevity, along with alleviating the burden of the cost of living for this young family.
One of her ongoing symptoms of cancer recovery has been debilitating fatigue, affecting her ability to work even part-time hours. On the days when she is not working she is usually either attending appointments or resting due to chronic exhaustion. From the outside, we're seeing the toll that the financial stress is having on her physical and emotional health. Financial support could be life changing for her and her family. This beautiful woman, friend, partner, and mother should not have to do this alone, and I know she is truly deserving of the support of community.
Your generosity would support her to focus on what's important-- to heal from cancer. It would be a gift leaving her with the time and energy to focus on healing, to look after her daughter, to make memories with her family and take care of her health, so that she can recover and survive against the odds.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful impact in helping this family navigate this challenging journey. If you are unable to donate, we kindly ask you to share this fundraiser with your network to help spread the word.
Yours with immense gratitude,
Lucy and Sam
