A Young Mother of 5 Needs Our Help After Unimaginable Loss

Six months ago, my youngest sister Maytal Bublil and her husband Yaniv celebrated the birth of their fifth child—a beautiful baby boy named Nittai. The photo you see here is from his bris. They were glowing with joy, surrounded by love, full of plans for the future.

But just three months later, everything changed.

Yaniv, a deeply kind, selfless, and loving father and husband, was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The pain came fast and intensely, and despite everything they tried, it only got worse. While most people would have crumbled under the weight of it all, Maytal rose to the challenge. She spent nearly every night at the hospital by his side, baby Nittai in her arms, while still caring for their other children—Agam (9), Daniel (8), Lian (4), and Coral (3)—back home. All of this in the middle of a war in Israel, with little nearby family support.

I had the honor of being with her for a short time, helping with the kids and saying goodbye to Yaniv. Even then, I could see how exhausted she was. Yet her love never wavered. She did everything in her power to carry her family through.

Two weeks ago, Yaniv came home. We thought he was turning a corner. But just days later, complications brought him back to the hospital. And last night, in a moment none of us were prepared for, Yaniv passed away.

He was 50 years old.

Now Maytal, at only 34-years old, is left to raise five young children—all under the age of 9—completely on her own. On top of this unbearable grief, she now faces the terrifying reality of no income, no financial support, and no idea how she’ll provide for her children in the days, weeks, and years ahead.

We don’t have the answers. But we do have each other.

We are turning to our community to ask for your support—to give Maytal and her children some stability, some breathing room, and a reminder that they’re not alone.

This is what true chesed looks like.
This is how we carry each other when the burden becomes too heavy to bear alone.

If you’re able, please give generously. If you’re not, please share this campaign. Every bit counts. Every act of kindness matters.

May Yaniv’s memory be a blessing, and may his family feel surrounded by love in the days ahead.
