Help Franco access needed mental health treatment

To know Franco is to love him. Franco is a sweet and kind 18 year old young man and an extremely talented self taught musician, songwriter, and artist. Franco lives with his single mother and his 11 year old sister. With english as her second language and working hard as a full time nanny, his mother struggles to pay the rent and for other necessities. His mother and sister have always been incredibly supportive of Franco and his aspiration to be a professional musician, songwriter, composer, and creator but a recent mental health diagnosis has gotten in the way of Franco's dream and navigating the mental health system has become quite a literal nightmare for the entire family.

Franco was recently diagnosed with unspecified psychosis and probable schizophrenia and is struggling to find the proper medical management and treatment. Psychosis and Schizophrenia can be a debilitating, lifelong mental illness that affects people with chaotic thought patterns, hallucinations, faulty beliefs, and often, a complete loss of reality. Many with schizophrenia are unable to work or support themselves and untreated, face tragic lives and circumstances.

The good news is that there are now effective ways to treat psychosis and lasting recovery is possible with the right treatment but this comes at a high cost. With the help of Franco's doctors, we've identified a wonderful facility called Embark Behavioral Health in Missouri where Franco has been accepted. It offers a residential treatment program for mental disorders and psychosis in teens and young adults but it costs $20,000 at a minimum.
