Our dear friends Jeremy and Ann Hazel lost their home and all of their belongings in a multi-house fire. Jeremy and Ann live on a peaceful street in Ashburn, VA, but their lives were disrupted by fire that started in the neighborhood and immediately spread to their home. When firefighters arrived, they found several floors of the first home engulfed in flames. Because of high winds, the fire spread to three nearby homes, including Jeremy and Ann’s house. It went so fast that our friends couldn't save any of their belongings.

The blaze was likely caused by the neighbor’s improper discarding of fire materials. One person died, nine adults and two children were displaced. We are very thankful that Jeremy and Ann are safe, and we know they don’t want to ask anyone for help, but they would be the first to show up to help anyone in the same situation.

We are asking to donate whatever you can to help our friends, provide extra resources, and support them as they try to figure out if they can rebuild their home.

Most importantly, we ask to please check your house fire alarms and make sure to dispose of any open fire properly before leaving.
