A young boy with a neuro degenerative disease

Hello! I have the pleasure of helping to fundraise for the Romero Family and their son Jacob. Jacob is a young boy with Autism who was recently diagnosed with a rare degenerative neurological disease, called KIF1A Associated Neurological Disorder (KAND). There are only 350 cases of this in the world and there is no cure. This awful disease attacks your entire body from your eyes, brain, and heart to your lymphatic and skeletal system, taking away your sight and ability to walk. Jacob needs access to aquatic therapy, a wheelchair, a van to transport him and so many other expensive interventions! Within days of getting this diagnosis, the Romero family already began to discuss how they can use their journey and time with Jacob to help other children diagnosed in the future. Jacob's dad is an Army veteran and always puts his family first. Jacob's mom I have known to give the shoes off her feet to a person in need, she is active in her community of special needs parents and has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. Jacob also has 3 amazing Brothers! Jacob's early childhood was filled with brain surgeries and countless hospital visits. This new diagnosis brings more obstacles for him to overcome. He has the best smile, is always up for video games with his family, loves listening to Christmas music year-round and is a HUGE GODZILLA FAN!!!
