Donation protected
On August 24th 2020, our good friend Malcolm Bass (second left in picture next to his wife Donna, left) had a devastating stroke, suddenly collapsing after a climbing trip with friends in the Scottish Highlands. The stroke hit without warning and flung this immensely fit, world-class mountaineer and NHS psychologist into the abyss.
Malcolm is making steady progress; however, his rehabilitation remains taxing, with several gruelling physio and hydrotherapy sessions each week, and there is still a long way to go. Fundraising efforts through the Move Mountains for Malcolm campaign have so far allowed Malcolm to begin to enjoy the outdoors again on his specialist off-road wheelchair and continue to support his intensive cognitive, occupational and physical therapy.
With Malcolm's friends having already racked up some impressive physical challenges to raise money, I thought I'd try more of a mental challenge and give up alcohol. For a whole year. Those who know me well will understand quite what an undertaking this will be - but that’s nothing compared to the trials Malcolm and Donna face daily.

I'm giving up booze for 12 whole months starting on 31st January 2022, (and donating my estimated savings on alcohol in addition) so maybe you could think about giving £1.20, £12 or £120...any amount will be gratefully received and go directly to helping Malcolm's recovery.

So, please read carefully, share widely and give generously. Thank you.
