A wrecked truck and an uninsured motorist…

Hello Good People!

I’m starting this Go Fund Me for my friend Barbara Stephanie Avina because she was recently hit by an uninsured motorist and needs help getting her wheels back under her.

This is why she needs our help ~ in her own words:

“I am devastated. After finding out that I had no uninsured driver coverage, my only options are getting nothing or taking the at-fault driver to court, as some have suggested.

But, this woman has even less than I do. She’s a much younger single mother with a much younger daughter, who just lost her apartment, and whose insurance just recently lapsed. She’s scrambling, trying to stay on her feet.

What can I expect to gain by suing her?

She has nothing, while I at least still have my little shack I rent. My truck was the only thing of any value I owned and my only transportation for more than 17 years.”

This so beautifully illustrates the depth of Barbara’s understanding of the situation and empathy in her unwillingness to seek reparations from someone worse off than herself.

Barbara understands hardship and is mortified at the thought of asking for help ~ but we are going to do just that.

Here’s hoping that we can help fix things for Barbara and her daughter my raising enough money to either repair her truck or enable her to get another vehicle.
