A World Beyond - A Student Short Film

Hi, I'm Jay, the Director and Producer of A World Beyond, a 15-minute short film that serves as a third-year final project at The University of Salford.

When Dom is faced with the opportunity to leave home, he must come to terms with the world around him before deciding his future.

My crew and I, including Evan Whiteley & Joseph Goss, aim to highlight the challenges of growing up in a small town and how leaving such places without the right support is a difficult journey many young people face every day. This will be a socio-realist piece, exposing the hidden realities buried into English culture.

This film is a real passion project for our crew, and being able to represent a younger generation being left behind is an extremely important task we want to take on. From our own experiences, as well as others we have seen, this issue is deeply-rooted and accepted, and we hope to be able to make a wider audience realise this problem.
