I’m a painter and preventative maintenance technician by trade. With a reliable car, I can continue working and take on small independent painting and pressure-washing jobs to stabilize my income. This turns short-term help into long-term sustainability. This situation has also limited how present I can be for my children and how much I can contribute as a co-parent. Their mother and I have a strong, healthy co-parenting relationship, and I want to preserve that and show up the way my kids deserve. I’m not asking for luxury or a handout.
