Edge of the Atlantic: A Women’s Canoe Expedition to the Labrador Sea
In July & August 2026, six women will complete a 35-day, 1,000 kilometer canoe expedition through northeastern Canada. The route follows a series of rivers in Labrador and Quebec, including the Shabogama, Ashuanipi, De Pas, and the River of the Great Bay (George River), before meeting the arctic headwaters of Ungava Bay. Our mission is to propel the next generation of leaders to chart their own expeditions and empower female paddlers through outreach and direct mentorship. We strive to showcase women in raw & remote wilderness settings – reaching more adventurists and promoting the sheer force of women’s capability.
Our team is seeking support from family, friends, and those passionate about the outdoors. Funding goes directly to expedition costs: including transportation, canoes, gear, and food. Support helps us achieve our larger goals and set an example for the young women at our wilderness tripping camp, Ogichi Daa Kwe (Camping & Education Foundation).
In addition to this mission, we look forward to donating 3% of all funds raised on this platform to the World Wildlife Fund Canada. Any additional funding over our goal will be donated to this conservation fund as well. We look forward to announcing future partnerships in the realm of arctic preservation & research.
We are thrilled about this opportunity and look forward to sharing our journey with you!
