A Woman’s Voice

The first song I’ve ever heard was the sound of my mother's voice. She would sing to my brother and I loved her songs. I was 4 and my brother was 7. My mother would pronounce each word so emotionally that it would bring a lump to my throat. Her singing made me feel that I understood the words’ meaning.
When I grew older I would listen to *Rangarang* and I would imagine myself as one of the female singers, it felt like I was singing. I dreamt of becoming a singer and sing for others. I began to sing for my friends at school and on the streets. I knew I wanted to become a singer but I couldn't connect with all the songs, something wasn’t completely as it should be. However I continued to sing.
Besides singing I would always see myself as the super hero who helps everyone. Especially helping the poor. When I grew older I would dedicate a part of my income to help people in need.
When I turned 15, I started to sing at a mental hospital for schizophrenia where my friend's "Ladan" sister was working. It made me so happy to see them enjoy our performance. I was also sad that I couldn't do more for them. At 18 I started studying at the university to become an electronic engineer, but it didn’t satisfy my inner desire to perform. Instead, I did some tutoring and dedicated all my income from my musical performances to the ones in need. Yet I felt that it was still not enough help for the less fortunate.
I realized that I went about it the wrong way. And what I imagined to be the right way took many years and much research to implement. I found a way to connect all my abilities and resources to do so.
I have decided to dedicate my life to music, voice, singing, and speech to help with human rights education in Iran.
Today at 35 I'm so glad that I am working toward my goal, but I need your support to produce and record my songs so that through them I can help and foster Human Rights in my home country.
I'm here today to ask everyone who ever had a dream to fulfill, to help me help Iran and Iranians .
We each have certain abilities to help but none of us can do it alone. Only together can we make this dream become a reality.
Like my Grandmother always said, one hand has no sound. But together we can accomplish all things.
Please join me in this cause to make a positive step forward.
