A Wish In A Bottle

Why This Film

This film is our team's thesis work for The University of the Arts (more on the team later.)

Synopsis

I would like to take you on an adventure, of loss, heartache, serendipity, wishes, hope, and purpose. You'll be following a man that goes out to the beach and collects bottles. In these bottles are wishes that he places into a machine that comes true. Till one day he meets a great loss.

How It's Filmed

The film will be a mix of super 8 film and digital. We wanted to shoot something with a super 8 film because three years ago our writer and director Kevin fell in love with it. Three years ago he was given a super 8 camera and had some film that someone else gave him. He went out and shot a trip he took with his friends to Sleepy Hollow with it. Never had it developed until two years later he learned how to develop the film at home and had a friend who can scan it. When he saw the footage after it was scanned he was filled with emotion and nostalgia. That is what we want this film to make you feel.

The Team

Kevin Valentin - Writer, Director, Cinematographer

Kevin, a senior Film major at the University of the Arts, is a visual artist, who is all about physical media. Working with film in his videos as well as his photography. He likes to break molds, think, and create. His big personality is reflective of the work he produces.

Katie Pedersen - Set/Props Designer, Costume, Producer

Katie is a senior Film Design major at the University of the Arts. She has always liked design and film/tv so is pursuing a career where the two mix. She is super excited to work on this film and hopes that you are just as excited as her to see it.
