A Wig for My Mom’s Cancer Journey

Donation protected
My mom has been bravely fighting colon cancer for over 5 years, enduring countless rounds of chemotherapy. However, the cancer has stubbornly remained, and she recently began a new clinical trial in hopes of minimizing the spread of cancer. Unfortunately, this new treatment has caused her hair loss to accelerate rapidly, leaving her feeling really disheartened and self-conscious.

Throughout the past 5 years, my mom has endured a tremendous amount both physically and mentally. So much has been taken away from her: her freedom to travel, her love of walking and movement, and large parts of her identity, including her hair. I spent the holidays with her, and she told me about wanting a comfortable, high-quality wig that would make her feel confident enough to leave the house and feel beautiful. However, good quality wigs can range from $2000-$6000. From supporting her medical bills, along with the loss of income from having to leave work due to her cancer treatment, this price point has been prohibitive.

I'm reaching out to my incredible community for help in getting my mom a wig she feels beautiful in. Thank you so much for any amount of support. I hope to surprise my mom with a fully paid-for wig fitting appointment.
