A Wheelchair Accessible Cause

Donation protected
Hello, I’m Cassandra. On June 3rd, my two children and I were in an auto accident. A car came at us and T-boned me even though we had turned into a gas station and stopped because I saw the car swerving up the road coming toward us. My 17 year old daughter never lost consciousness and saw me being crushed by this car on the driver’s side. My son blacked out and woke up in the trunk confused. We all were rushed to the ER. My daughter, Autumn, was treated and released with a bruised pelvis and 2 bruised ribs. My 14 year old son, Simon, was treated and released with a concussion and 2 bruised lungs. I, however, was lodged in my truck on the left side of my body, causing my pelvic ring to be crushed. I needed surgery immediately and haven’t been home since. I spent 10 days in the hospital before being released to a rehab center with something called an external fixator coming out of my body. This was to ensure that the pins that were now in my pelvis didn’t move. Besides a crushed pelvis, I had a broken knee, a hematoma in my stomach and chest, a fractured sternum, 2 fractured ribs, 2 fractured lungs and a seatbelt burn. My doctor said that my spine disconnected from my body!! He categorized me as non-weight bearing and therefore I couldn’t bear weight, meaning stand. Even though I can’t stand, It’s a miracle that I’m not paralyzed. I’ve been going through physical and occupational therapy to keep my muscles strong and have just been cleared to bear weight on my right side. This gives me enough strength to have more independence. However, before I can go home at wheelchair level, I must have a wheelchair accessible home, which I don’t. This accident has affected my income and ability to work. Therefore, I need help coming up with the move in fee for a rental property. This fee In today’s market runs around $3500. I’m asking you to donate to my cause so I can get as close to this amount as possible. I have family and friends out of state that have asked repeatedly if there’s anything they can do to help, well now there is. I thank you all in advance that will give and I thank all of you that want to give but can’t.
