A weekly show and website for Labour's grassroots
Help create a unique hub for Labour's grassroots that will inform, inspire and entertain us.
Labour Grassroots will continue the work of Stay Home for Labour with a weekly show every Wednesday evening on Zoom. However, unlike Stay Home for Labour, the show will also be part of a wider forum that will include daily blogs and videos from activists.
Our network of activists spans the whole country and this will be the place to come to get the news about what is really happening on the ground.
There will also be entertainment provided by our stand-up comedians, poets and musicians - all of whom are struggling with very little or no live work.
What the funds are for
The website design and maintenance will cost £1,200 for the first year and we also need to pay for Zoom (£100 per month), Mailchimp (£80 per month), Adobe Creative Suite (£50 per month), accountancy software (£200 per year), SurveyMonkey (£300 per year) and Hootsuite (£300 per year).
Who we are
'Labour Grassroots' has been set up by Crispin Flintoff, who founded Stand up for Labour in 2013, where he put on over 250 fundraising shows for CLPs all over the country and then ran 39 shows via Zoom of 'Stay Home for Labour' during lockdown. He receives no money from the Labour Party (despite many appeals for support).
Once the website is up and running, Crispin will withdraw funds from the Crowdfunder to cover the upfront costs.
