A way to support Briley Schoppe’s journey against lymphoma
Donation protected
Briley Schoppe is a young woman with a beautiful personality and strong faith. We've always teased her that she had a BIG heart, whether it was in helping her siblings, pets, friends, or strangers. We just never knew that her heart would ever become the issue, or that it would literally become too big!
Just six months after getting married last year, Briley Schoppe found herself in the emergency room facing an unexpected cardiac surgery several weeks after recovering from a severe cold virus. Complications required a medical helicopter transport to a trauma center outside of her hometown in Texas. For the next 3 weeks, physicians in the ICU helped her fight against heart failure caused by a mass pressed against her pulmonary artery. This turned out to be an aggressive T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma on which they started chemotherapy treatments for another two weeks before she was able to leave the hospital. She now continues with a chemo regimen multiple days weekly that has to be conducted at a cancer center 80 miles from her hometown. She expects an intense chemo program for the next year, which will then continue less aggressively for an additional 1-2 years after that.
Briley and Justin both are so very thankful for all of the prayers and offers of support from their many family, friends, coworkers, and church congregations across the country during this time of physical, emotional, and financial trials.
