Hi, my name is Latrisha and I am fundraising for my sister, Kareena.

In November 2022, our family was devastated when Kareena was diagnosed with breast cancer! I was especially heartbroken finding out that our family’s pillar and my only sibling was stricken with breast cancer. She is the sole provider and caretaker of our mom since our dad transitioned to eternal rest in 2018 from esophageal cancer. Kareena was at every medical appointment and spent countless nights at his bedside during his hospice care. Her selfless acts and kind heart has extended her reach to people near and far. My sister’s ability to inspire others is a contagious asset! From her community activism to her helping less fortunate families she’s the epitome of a class act! She’s never met a stranger on her life’s journey.

The emotional and financial burden of her breast cancer is a costly fear. Kareena has been without income since November 2022 and she has exhausted all of her savings and don’t have any income coming in. Unfortunately, she has been denied for short term disability by the Social Security Administration and she’s currently in the lengthy appeals process.

Update: My sister needs a procedure done that isn't covered by her insurance that costs over $2400. She doesn't like asking for help and she still puts others first in spite of her medical condition. Those who have been in her presence knows she goes above and beyond for others. Our family has been blessed to still have her around and we appreciate everything that you all have contributed.
