Hi, my name is Shemeka. I'm fundraising because in March I had an aneurysm rupture in my brain along with having several strokes, my eyes rolled back and I lost my bowels. Three brain surgeries were performed as well as as a VP Shunt placed in my brain to keep fluid off. The doctors also found a herniated disc in my lower back. I was not expected to survive by anyone... The doctors and my family had given up on me but God had other plans. As a result, my family terminated my lease to my apartment, transferred my vehicle out of my name and unenrolled my children from school as if I was already dead. By the Grace of God I survived... I had to learn how to walk, talk, chew and regain control of my bladder. Worst of all my family won't give me any type of financial support even though they are the reason I'm homeless. I have 5 children with me ages 8,6,4,2 and 8 months. I tried to get disability for myself and found out my daddy is already illegally collecting it under my name on me and my children and not compensating me for it. It hurts because he won't give me any assistance knowing full well he is collecting the money that belongs to me and my children every month. I am unable to work because I am partially numb from the waist down, I often have trouble keeping my balance, my short term memory comes and goes, amongst other things. The donations will be used to keep my children and I in a motel room until I can get stable enough to find a house or apartment for us to live. Also, funds will be used to continue to pay my car note even though the vehicle is no longer in my name it's still our only means of transportation.
