Help us walk!
We're raising money to make the performance walk about chronic pain along the Cammino Kalabria Coast to Coast happen this September. 20 days, in Calabria, southern Italy, shooting the sensory documentary 'a walk with Becky'.
In it, Becky is translated into sound, motion, color, and graphic form: a red dot, a yellow line, a blue scribble. Together, the walk and the film show what chronic pain looks, sounds, feels, and smells like when it claims its place in a life.

Where did it all begin?
Dien, the performance artist, lives with chronic pain and nerve damage. She named it Becky years ago, and naming it helped her externalise the condition; to write, draw, and research it. This walk is the first time Becky leaves the studio, and the research around her is being shared.

Who's Becky?
She is an entity who symbolises chronic pain and moves through the landscape on her own terms. She forces us into crip time: a non-linear experience of time shaped by chronic pain and disability, one that pushes back against normal ideas of pace, productivity, and scheduling. As we walk, we follow Becky.

Who's walking?
The walk is carried by the people who do it: Dien (Nadine Renee Borst), two co-walkers, and Margherita De Angelis, who walks as director and camera.

What do the funds cover?
Making the walk happen: travel, accommodation, and food for the walking team; equipment and production costs for the documentary; and, depending on how much we raise, expanding the crew further.

What do you get?
Every donor, when sharing their full name, gets a credit in the final film. You also get, in the 'thank you' note, a link with access to personal content where you can follow the journey of Becky.
One euro can mean a meal to one person and a tip toward a matcha latte to another.
Dependence, collective care, and rest are fundamental conditions of this walk. Your support is part of that.

If you can, give. If you can't, please share, it costs nothing and helps just as much.
