A VOICE FOR MARIO AND BRANDIS

Donation protected
On the afternoon of March 21, 2021, Mario Brown, Jaquarious Allen, and Brandis Brown were involved in a single car accident that struck a tree on Lucy Seaberry Drive in Cleveland, MS around 1:30pm.

Sadly, Brandis and Mario lost their lives that day.  Jaquarious the third victim/passenger survived.  According to his recollection of the events that took place, they were driving down the road of Lee St. when Jaquarious Allen,  the backseat passenger and Brandis Brown the front seat passenger noticed that the car begin to accelerate quickly.

When they looked over at the driver Mario Brown, they noticed he was slumped over in the car and unresponsive. In an effort to save everyone, Brandis tried to gain control of the vehicle, by taking control of the steering wheel, but he was unsuccessful.  The truck unfortunately crashed into a tree.  Good Samaritans removed Brandis and Jaquarious from the vehicle, but Mario was trapped inside. The car began to catch on fire, 911 was dialed, and EMS was dispatched.

Jaquarious was picked up by EMS and driven to a neighboring hospital in Greenville, MS.  He was  later transferred to UMMC Hospital in Jackson, MS, where he had surgery for his injuries.

The ambulance that arrived on the scene for Brandis Brown was driven by a man in civilian clothes.  He placed oxygen on Brandis who was alive, and put him in the back of the ambulance truck by himself with no one inside to aid him with any life saving procedures.

The ambulance driver arrived alone with no assistance,  leaving Brandis unattended for 20-25 minutes  inside the ambulance while he roamed the scene of the accident. Once he finally returned to the ambulance where Brandis was, he drove to Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland (3 minutes away), where a helicopter had been waiting for Brandis to take him to a better equipped hospital in Jackson, MS.

Upon arrival, the ambulance driver parked the truck in the emergency area of the hospital, and got into his personal vehicle.  Then an EMT exited her personal vehicle,  got into the ambulance, and drove it around front to the awaiting helicopter for Brandis.

Once arriving to the helicopter they opened the doors of the ambulance to make the transition, but they closed them back and never transferred him to the helicopter. They later told the family he passed away.

The family later came to find out that the driver of the ambulance who picked up Brandis, placed him in the ambulance and left him there unattended for 20-25 minutes on the scene of the accident was a volunteer firefighter.

Mario Brown was pronounced deceased on the scene of the accident by the coroner.

The family and friends are devastated by the loss of their loved ones, but they are even more hurt knowing the circumstances in which Brandis was left all to himself and not given the proper care by medical professionals.

The family asked for autopsies to be done on both Mario and Brandis but were denied by authorizing authority.

The family would like to know what happened to Brandis and Mario and what are the true causes of death.

They are seeking help in paying for private autopsies.

They have located a pathologist out of Alabama who is willing to perform an autopsy on Brandis Brown to see what the exact cause of death was, and if there could have been any life saving procedures rendered to save his life that was neglected to be given to him.

Also to find out the reason if any, Mario Brown passed out and was slumped over in the car prior to the accident.

The total cost of autopsy fees and travel of the bodies from Mississippi to Alabama,  and back to Mississippi is $15,000.

The family is seeking any financial donations or contributions to assist with cost at this time.  There are so many questions left on the hearts of the family since that terrible day.  They are hoping that the autopsies can shed some light on the events surrounding the accident bringing peace and comfort.
