UPDATE: We officially closed on Village House on August 6th! We had to borrow about $17,000 of additional funding to make it happen, and that's why this GoFundMe is so crucial! All of these funds will go straight to paying down that debt so we can get financially on track, and any additional money raised will go towards our monthly mortgage payments.

After four years of operating the Village House, a transitional housing for homeless youth in Tompkins County, we are in the final days of a major step towards financial stability for the program -- attaining ownership of the Village House property itself! Ownership of Village House means lower monthly costs, which is especially important now that the program is operating without substantial government funding.

We are scheduled to close on the property this Thursday, August 6th, but some last minute calculations have led to a shortfall in closing costs of approximately $9000 -- $8935.64 to be exact.

Our incredible seller has offered to roll this cost into a private loan, but we would love to avoid this with support from our incredible community.

You have already done so much to ensure that this vital program stays afloat, and because of you, 26 young people have successfully graduated into stable housing. Please help us continue this crucial work as we reach this incredible milestone!
