A Van for Tina - Tina's Freedom Campaign
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Inge - today I am reaching out to share the inspiring story of my friend, Tina May. At 28 years old, Tina lives with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2, a progressive condition that severely limits her mobility. Despite facing numerous challenges, Tina dreams of independence and the freedom to explore the world around her.
Living in supported accommodation for the past 11 years, Tina has always longed for the opportunity to go on holiday and experience the simple joys of everyday life. However, relying solely on access taxis has critically restricted her movement, making it difficult to participate in activities most of us take for granted.
Recently, Tina's determination and resilience have shone through, she has started volunteering for her local church and has become more confident in expressing her needs and desires. With the support of a very generous sponsor, Tina is now on the brink of realizing her dream of owning an accessibility van.
But she can't do it alone.
We're launching this campaign to raise funds for modifying the van to make it wheelchair accessible , training Tina's caregivers in its use, and covering insurance costs for the first year. While Tina has been fundraising through her own efforts, including her renowned baking skills, she needs our help to make this dream a reality.
A van isn't just a mode of transportation for Tina; it's a symbol of freedom, independence, and improved mental well-being. As her condition is progressive, time is of the essence in making her dream come true.
Join us in supporting Tina on her journey towards independence. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in her life.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping Tina realize her dreams.
