A little car for Meowmy

I just set up this Go Fund Me for Meowmy hoping she can buy a used little car to stop relying on our rural unreliable public transport to go grocery shopping, to the doctor, the train station, vet visits, medical emergencies, and get my medical supplies at the pharmacy. Having her own little vehicle will be less stressful and save her time as she won't rely on an unpredictable service and has another option when there's train strikes.

Meowmy calculated the approximate cost, it includes:

THE CAR

The cheaper the car the more chances there will be issues/pieces to change in the near future. So it can’t be too cheap.

Meowmy doesn’t know yet whether an automatic or a manual car is the best for her. An automatic car is easier/not as stressful to drive as you don't have to change gears and it doesn’t require as many driving lessons as a manual but it’s more expensive and there is less automatic cars on the second hand market.

Meowmy has a friend who knows a little bit about cars. She will send him the links to her selection of classified ads. Then he will tell her if there’s any red flag in the history of the car, the description or the photos.

DRIVING LESSONS

Meowmy does have a driving licence but she hasn’t driven for 25 years (yes she’s that old) and barely drove in her life. Soon after she got her licence she moved to a big city where she used the tube until she moved here. She thinks she has to start all over.

One hour driving lesson costs 46e for a manual car and 48e for an automatic. Meowmy expects to have approximatively 20 lessons.

INSURANCE

Because Meowmy barely drove after she got her license and was never insured as a driver she will be considered as an unexperimented driver so insurance will be more expensive. It’s hard to get an accurate estimation without getting spammed by insurance companies. She estimated it between 600 and 1100 euros per year because it also depends on the car she buys.
