Hi my name is Colleen. On the 12th of August 2023 our beautiful, vibrant, energetic, kind hearted 17yro grandson, son and brother was involved in a horrific motorbike accident in Norman Gardens, North Rockhampton, Queensland while visiting his step-siblings.

Kaleb sustained life threatening critical injuries and was flown to Royal Brisbane Hospital, Brisbane where he was placed in an induced coma in the Intensive Care ward.

True to form Kaleb continues to fight hard and after 23 days was moved from the ICU to the Neurological ward at the hospital.

We have been told that Kaleb has suffered significant trauma to his brain. We have been told that Kaleb has a long road ahead of him however we continue to remain positive and send all our strength and love to Kaleb. Kaleb continues to show strength and determination and gives us small miracles every day.

His mum, sister and granddad have remained by his bedside everyday.

Now 5 weeks post accident we find ourselves almost financially exhausted. Mum, being a single mum, worked full-time and maintained a home for her and her two children. Mum's leave has almost been depleted and now fears how she is going to be able to stay by Kaleb's side in Brisbane, continue to cover the weekly running costs of their rental home in Gracemere, weekly bills and the additional living costs in Brisbane.

Mum and Kaleb's sister need to stay by Kaleb's side as he continues to improve with their love, strength and encouragement supporting him. Kaleb also needs to be able to return back to the home he knows and continue on his road to recovery.
