Katherine is a beautiful and brilliant little human. She has Down syndrome and faces challenges on a day to day basis - though she takes them in her stride and gets on with enjoying life. Katherine has well outgrown the tricycle she had for the last 5 years and is in need of one so that she can participate in Bikeability (a bike safety training that is offered in year 6) in March and so that she can get back to enjoying riding. The independence it gives her, as well as the exercise and ability to keep up with her sisters, are both needed and valuable. She rode a tricycle at a play-place last summer and flew around the track, laughing as she went (as seen in the photo). It had been a long time since she had ridden a trike and it was just a delight to see her back in the saddle and having so much fun. I contacted the company who made the trike and they came and assessed her for one that she can both use now but also will have plenty of room to grow into. The cost is high as it is built to specification for Katherine, so we are setting up this fundraiser and would love for you to consider supporting the purchase of a tricycle for our lovely Katherine.
