A tribute to the beautiful Magdala Henry...

It is with great sadness that our beloved Ms. Magdala Henry passed away unexpectedly at only 56 years old on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023.

She was born on May 5th, 1967 in Petron-ville, Haiti to a large family. On December 23rd, 1994, Ms. Magdala was blessed with one of her most precious gifts, her one and only son, Dimitry Henry. She loved and cherished the role she played as Dimitry's mother. She worked relentlessly as a single mother to provide the best life for her son. In pursuit of a better life, the two of them made the journey to the United States on July 4th, 2001. Without knowing English, Ms. Magdala triumphed through many trials and tribulations always in the hope to give her son a brighter future.

She was a devoted Christian who gave her life to Christ and raised her son in the church as a God-fearing man. Ms. Magdala found her community in Atlanta through the church and it was here their family grew. The Joseph, Duverge, and Kinlock families quickly embraced Ms. Magdala and Dimitry as their own. They served in the church together; singing in the choir, enjoying Sabbath dinners, and celebrating special moments.

Ten days before losing our dear Ms. Magdala, she was overjoyed to celebrate her son’s engagement. She found comfort in witnessing her son find true happiness in a growing family who loved them both wholeheartedly. She expressed her deep gratitude stating, “You know, it’s just Dimitry and me. We don’t have much family. Thank you so much for this.”

Within two weeks of God calling his daughter home, she found peace in celebrating love and a new chapter with her son. We are extremely heartbroken by this sudden unexpected loss, and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Ms. Magdala Henry will forever be cherished in our hearts and Dimitry will forever have her watching over him every step of the way.

It is during these difficult times of loss and sadness that we can come together to help support one another. We are thankful for any financial support you may be able to provide to give our beloved Ms. Magdala a proper farewell.

Please keep Dimitry and his family in your prayers. May God bless you.To the late Magdala Henry
