A tribute to Pops - THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND. 100% of Donations benefit Patty Montez.
In his short but full 50 years, Pops made more positive impacts on peoples lives than many do in a lifetime. He is remembered by many as the man you could always go to for anything and he would not judge you. He is so dearly missed by family, friends, and In n out associates.

Pops was the manager of In n Out Store #65 on Panama Lane in Bakersfield, when he became ill from COVID-19, and it was 3 weeks later that he was called home to be with his beloved mother in heaven, leaving us all in mourning. We all said “It’s Pops, nothing could ever happen to such a legend”, but God had other plans. The memories we have of him are what we hold onto now, we keep his kind spirit alive in our hearts, and do good to other people as he would have advised us all.

Pops built an adventurous life together with his wife, Patty Montez, and they raised 2 beautiful girls together. The love Pops had for his best friend and wife, Patty Montez, was evident to anyone who ever spoke to him. He would always dote on her, and speak about her with utmost respect and adoration. I remember, Pops would always have a photo of Patty on his phone, and he would wait for people to ask, “is that your wife?”, so he could talk about her for 20 whole minutes. He was very appreciative of her and he set an example of the type of man every woman should want to marry. There are no words that can be said to comfort the loss of losing a soulmate, but our hope is to help Patty with some of the costs she has incurred due to unforeseen circumstances as she grieves.

MEMORIES - Please share your memories of Pops, for everyone to hear about the life he led, and how he impacted your life. You can send stories, pictures, videos, etc to : [email redacted]
This will be perfect for his wife, children and grandchildren to share in those memories.
FINANCIAL HELP - All donations are greatly appreciated. Patty is currently working a graveyard position to help pay her bills, but we know Pops wanted nothing but the best for her, and this is not it. If we all pitch in, we can help eliminate some of the financial burden for her. Pops would have never wanted his wife to experience such financial hardship, he has done SOOOO much for all of us, he has given us all so much opportunity, and has helped us in more ways than one, that this is the least we can do to help. 100% of proceeds donated go to Patty Montez.
LIVE by HIS EXAMPLE - Be kind to everyone you meet, help others when they are down, even if they do not ask for the help. Pops was a light to this world, a light that will never dim whether he is here or not. In a world full of darkness, be a light.
SERVICES - Unknown at this time
Pops was adamant on not wanting a soppy funeral service. He wanted something happy where people could listen to oldies music and BBQ. Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, such a gathering would not be possible at this time. It would be devastating if anyone else fell ill to COVID-19 after a large gathering for Pops remembrance, and he would not have wanted that. At this time, there is no set date for any type of services. 100% of proceeds to go Patty Montez, these funds will help her make arrangements.
