I have been on my gender journey medically for over 10 years now with the NHS. It has been emotional, empowering and occasionally expensive enough to make my wallet cry. I had my first surgery in 2021, but my bottom surgery refferal has been stuck in NHS limbo ever since. I have now been advised to go private, which sounds fancy untill you realize i work two jobs and still debate whether i can afford cheese this week.

The surgery I'm aiming for is a phalloplasty, it is the next big (literally) step in my transition.
