Hi all! We are going to raise $1500 to purchase a second hand set of corral panels that will create a training area for all the donkeys at
The Longears Safehouse. This is the donkey sanctuary where I volunteer, and where I have adopted all three of my sweet donkeys. Some of the rescued donkeys at the sanctuary will never be rehabilitated enough to be adopted. This is due to previous traumas. They will live out their lives at the sanctuary. However, there are always a number of donkeys who could find their forever home after they receive basic training. Donkeys who can be haltered and led around, who can have their hooves handled, and who can be brushed are very adoptable.
One of the reasons that donkeys end up neglected or injured is because they never received their basic training and cannot be handled properly. Basic training is key to settle our donkeys happily into new homes with new owners. These corral panels will help Dorothea and her team provide more basic training to more donkeys so that more donkeys can find their new homes.
I believe we can reach our $1500 goal so that the Longears Safehouse, New Mexico's only dedicated donkey rescue and sanctuary, can get more donkeys trained and re-homed!
Please consider a donation of any amount.
Tania Herbert (donkey lover and a Longears Advocate)
