A Tragic Nightmare in the Goodwine Family
Donation protected
It is an unimaginable horror to lose a mother to cancer and a sister to heartbreak in less than two months.
The four Goodwine children lost their mother, Beverly, to leukemia on March 21, 2024 after a failed bone marrow transplant and year-long journey of suffering. She was 61.
Brandi Reniece; her 15-year-old son Christian; and her siblings Nina, Breon and R.J. with wife Stephanie were making plans to honor Beverly with a memorial in June.
Brandi Reniece was a pioneer in the healthy hair care industry and was always inventive, passionate, and in love with her craft.
But her grief became, in her own words, “compounded, complex, debilitating.” She had an extremely close relationship with her mother and could not process her mother’s terminal diagnosis nor her passing.
On May 11, 2024, Brandi Reniece ended her life as a result of her intense grief and depression. She was 41. It was the day before Mother’s Day. Christian called 911.
The Goodwine family along with Christian’s father and grandmother are first focusing on surrounding Christian in protection, love, and professional support.
Brandi Reniece’s father, Rodney, is handling her service arrangements and estate affairs.
Both Brandi and her mother Beverly were business owners. Nina, Breon, RJ and Stephanie are now faced with the extraordinary tasks of helping Christian navigate the loss of his mother, handling affairs for two estates—Beverly’s business is in the U.S. Virgin Islands, while Brandi owned Reniece & Co. in Rockville, MD—and doing all of this while moving through their own immeasurable grief.
Donations would help support the family in holding all of their lives together and support Christian during this tragic series of events.
Any and all gifts are truly appreciated.
