Matthew Miller enlisted in the Navy fresh out of high school, then spent nearly 20 years in government IT, the last several at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He got his start as a teenager fixing his grandma's computer and was always willing to lend a hand when family or friends needed tech support. He loved fostering dogs and inherited his dads passion for woodworking. His greatest joy was being Victoria and Brandon’s dad.

On September 29, 2026, six days after his 43rd birthday, Matt died by suicide. A year earlier, Matt had a stroke and spent a week in the neurology ICU at Miami Valley Hospital. His body recovered but his mind never fully did. He sought help from specialists and was making progress, but the changes the stroke left behind were more than he could carry. Matt and Emily met in 2003 while stationed at Naval Air Station Pensacola. Emily is a disabled veteran, and her disability income now has to support the whole family. Matts life insurance will cover his funeral and immediate costs, but nothing more.

Without help, Emily will have to sell the house Victoria and Brandon shared with their dad.

Your gift will:
  • Pay for necessary repairs on the family home
  • Help refinance the mortgage to a payment Emily can manage
  • Provide resources to veterans through Till Valhalla Project, a veteran owned company Matt was proud to support.

Victoria and Brandon have already lost their father, please help them keep their home. If you can't give, sharing this page helps just as much.
