Holyland Donkey Haven is all about saving donkeys. This is a story about a vey special donkey we call Tiny Tim.
Tim came to Holyland at about two years old. When examined, doctors thought he was a miniature donkey because he was only 32" high. The doctors determined that he was a standard donkey and should have been at 90% of his height at two years old. This was because Tim was suffering from malnutrition and he had a severe leg deformity.
The owner of Holyland is Angela Langoski. It took Angela four solid months of care before Tim would even be strong enough to go through a serious surgery, and the surgery would cost $8,000.00.
Angela had no choice but to sell her 2040 John Deere tractor with forks and a front end loader to pay for the surgery. The tractor was worth $17,000.00, but she finally took the only offer she could get - $8,000.00. Exactly what she needed for Tiny Tim's much needed surgery.
The tractor is invaluable to Holyland, where currently they are caring for, rehabilitating and giving a loving home to 18 donkeys. Imagine trying to care for so many without a tractor!
This is the biggest fundraiser we've ever done and we desperately need your help. Holyland Donkey Haven is a place where every donkey is welcomed, where they receive the very best care regardless of the cost. Both Angela and Frank Kimmel, Angela's committed partner in Holyland, work full time jobs and much of the costs come from them personally; not because they have to but because saving donkeys is their passion. We hope that donkeys will also become your passion.
