Hello everyone my name is Melissa Martinez, I am the Girlfriend of Alex Ortiz. It is with pushing pride aside to do this for Our Awesome Son,Brother,Uncle,Nephew,Cousin,Father Figure,A Proud Teamster Member of 817 & Last never least-an Absolute Dedicated Hard working,helping hand stand up Man.
Alex was Admitted into Staten Island university Hospital ICU on Feb 24th Since then he has been placed under a medically induced coma. He has been fighting since. As of Feb 26th The decisions came tobe made to save his life.
Update from Alex’s Mother:
First we thank all of my family and friends for the. Support and prayers that were sent for Alex So here is the update. His condition has worsened the doctors at the Staten Island. And staff worked extremely hard for Alexis to get better. The oxygen he was receiving was not enough for him. To save my son's life I had to make a difficult decision for them to do a procedure called ECMO bypass for his lungs which is pretty much a dialysis for lungs.he was transferred by ambulance to Long Island City Jewish hospital at New Hyde Park NY. He is not out of the woods yet. Still in a medically induced coma. please once again send some more prayers.
