A Third Place

Hi :) I’m in need of a community grant to fund my first gallery installation- A Third Place. For most people third places are a distant cultural memory not a lived experience. Many of the places we consider third places (e.g. cafes, public spaces, etc.) have been designed to prioritize efficiency and profit over creating real spaces for human connection. Join me in building a space where people can linger, connect and play.

A third place will live as an installation in All St. Gallery. I want to challenge myself and anyone who comes into the space to engage in a practice of (un)learning that encourages them to slow down. I want to use this installation to challenge the audience to explore new ways of taking up space, in this they become the performer, our third place is their stage.
