A Historical Gay Comedy Starring Nancy Reagan: clown show

For years, I've been stewing in the idea of creating a show starring Nancy Reagan! After seeing the success of OH MARY, a hit show on Broadway starring Mary Todd Lincoln, and moving to Los Angeles, home of the Reagan Library and RNC headquarters, I knew the time had come for MY TURN!

My Turn, the "authorized memories'" of Nancy Reagan, will be in conversation with Nancy Reagan: The Unauthorized Biography, to create my first ever self-produced solo passion project: A HISTORICAL GAY COMEDY STARRING NANCY REAGAN: clown show, for the 15th Anniversary Hollywood Fringe Festival this summer.

In the spirit of Nancy Reagan, who never paid for anything herself, I'm asking friends and family for some help, if they can, to make this dream of mine a successful theatrical staged reality.

Think how unfortunate it's been; after all these years, I've never asked for money to produce a show! (Not accounting for Uncle Pat and The Dog Film SHAKESPAWS! Dogs performing Shakespeare for dogs.) What would Judy Garland and Debbie Reynolds think!? But times have changed, and we've often rewound the clock since the Puritans got the shock when they landed on Plymouth Rock.

The Hollywood Fringe Festival takes place June 12-29, 2025, with Previews starting June 7th.

THEATER VENUE:

The Davidson/Valentini Theatre, 1125 North McCadden Place at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's award-winning Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center - a 55-seat black box. (The AC will be on. There is a paid parking on site. They sell snacks and drinks)

*Personal Note: Why is this important? After the passing of my beloved talent manager in 2021, my guiding light through this industry had drastically dimmed. Through unthinkable circumstances of our present time, cultivating the will power to rise up and be vulnerable as an artist was not in the cards for me. Until I've realized that self medication was really self harm. Today, I'm on a path to sober recovery and putting myself out there in ways I never thought possible. Looking back at the past twenty five years, since I graduated high school, my greatest artistic successes have been when I took the initiative and acted on it, not auditioning for a role in someone else artistic endeavor, but giving brith to the artist voice within me. These successes were never done by me alone. Community and collaboration has always been the foundation, or the scaffolding that held these successes together.
