Like many of you, my children were fortunate enough to be cared for during before and after school hours at Manly West Public School by a truly unique and incredible BASC service.

What they experienced and leant at BASC has stayed with them well into young adulthood and they still have vivid, happy memories of their BASC friends and highly respected educators.

As you may know, the Manly West P&C has discontinued the BASC service and it has been outsourced to a commercial provider.

As a result, all of the wonderful BASC educators and management will end their employment there this term.

As part of the community that was made richer for the commitment, kindness, dedication and professionalism of the BASC educators, a group of us are trying to ensure they enjoy an appropriate send-off on 11 September 2026 at the Balgowlah Bowls Club.

To do this we need around $5,000 to book a function area, food and drinks for their farewell.

If you can spare a few dollars to help make this happen, I think it would mean a lot to the staff, some of whom have worked there for a long time - talking decades! - and are important driver's of our community.

(**If we raise more money than is required for the function, the group will buy staff a gift with the balance).
