A testimony to Tracy

Donation protected
My name is Sara and I’m on a mission for my life long best friend Tracy. Her world was turned upside down on November 20th with a phone call nobody ever wants to receive. Back in September she was feeling abnormally tired and run down. Many tests were run over the next couple months. The phone call on November 20th was to inform her she has acute monocytic leukemia. She was to get to Kansas University Medical in Kansas City that day as soon as she could. She left work to pack a bag for uncertainty. She was met by a team of doctors and nurses. Within 4 days they had her treatment plan and started. First round of chemo and multiple blood transfusions. The hospital is now her new home. She was allowed to come home for Christmas for a few days before her next big journey. She now has to have a bone marrow transplant. She has a super hero in her sister as she will be her donor. This process is a minimum of 90 days. She will more than likely have another round of chemo before the transplant. Still many unknowns and things change but that is the plan for now. The hardship on her mental and physical health have taken a huge toll. The expense is another burden. Tracy is unable to work. No telling when she would be able to return. Jason, her husband, works through the week and drives to KC for the weekend. One income is not what they live on and now with all the travel and medical expenses they can use some help. This is going to be a long process for them and the whole family. She has to have a caregiver 24 hours and day. I’m asking for any amount you may be willing to donate to help with travel expenses (food, gas, hotel fees etc). Also the long list of medical bills she will be receiving. Her sister will also be traveling and staying for her part of the transplant. Please help, if you can, take some of the burden away so she and her family can just focus on getting her cured. If you are unable to donate please pray. Pray for Tracy, Jason, her sister Tina, her parents Joyce and David, and the wonderful team of doctors and nurses at KU Med that have been doing an amazing job. I will provide updates as we get them. Please feel free to also send her messages. Talking is always a possibility but it sure does lift a spirit to hear encouraging words and feel the love we all have for her.
