A few weeks ago, Adrian was a strong, independent man, a professional driver who commanded the road with skill and confidence. Today, he is fighting the battle of his life, and we are rallying around him and his wife, Jeanette to ask for your help.
It started subtly in September with a swollen hand, a loss of grip. They thought it might be arthritis. But as a mother and partner,Jennette knew in her heart it was something more. She and their son, Shaun, convinced Adrian to go to the ER.
What followed was a spouse's worst nightmare, unfolding in slow motion.
At Kelowna General Hospital, initial tests came back clear. The ER doctor was ready to send him home, unable to find the cause. It was then that Jennette, with a wife's intuition, voiced the terrifying question no one wants to ask: "Could it be connected to his brain?" She explained that it seemed like the messages from his brain just weren't reaching his hand.
That question changed everything. A brain scan revealed the devastating truth: a mass, a tumor, on the left frontal lobe of Adrian's brain.
The world stopped.
Admitted to the hospital, the waiting began. In the dead of night, he started falling, confused and disoriented. He was discharged for the weekend, but the relief was short-lived. In the early hours of Monday morning, Jeanette found him standing in their home, a scared and bewildered man, not recognizing the furniture he’d lived with for years. He saw blue lights, whimpering like a little boy, lost in the place that was meant to be his sanctuary.
She held him, prayed with him, and they cried together—a heartbreaking moment of shared fear and unwavering love.
An ambulance was called, and after a defiant struggle born of confusion, Adrian was readmitted. Surgery was performed over the Thanksgiving weekend, a poignant contrast between gratitude and grief. The neurosurgeon was able to remove most of the tumor, but a small, treacherous piece remained, entwined with healthy tissue.
Just as they dared to hope, the nightmare has returned. Back at home, the terrifying symptoms are resurfacing—the disorientation, the blue lights, the profound confusion. The emotional toll on this loving family is immeasurable.
But now, a crushing new weight has been added: the financial reality.
Adrian can no longer work. He can no longer drive—the very skill that defined his career and provided for his family. The stress of medical bills, living expenses, and an uncertain future is a heavy burden on a man who just wants to protect and provide. He needs to focus every ounce of his energy on healing, not on mounting debt.
This is where we can come together.
We are setting up this fund to lift that financial burden from Adrian and Jennettes shoulders. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward:
Living expenses (mortgage, utilities, groceries) while Adrian cannot work.
Medical costs not covered by insurance, and more
Transportation to and from ongoing appointments and therapies.
Jeanette has been his rock, his advocate, and his safe harbor through this storm. Let’s now be theirs. Let’s surround this beautiful family with the same love and strength they have shown each other.
Please, donate what you can and share this story widely. In helping them navigate this difficult path, you are giving them the priceless gift of hope and the ability to focus on what truly matters: Adrian’s fight for recovery.
Thank you for your love, your support, and your generosity.
