A-Team Operation Liver
Donation protected
The A-Team is a group of friends desperate to raise awareness to help our amazing friend A.M. find a liver donor and help her offset the cost of the transplant surgery for her and her donor. We are are doing it because she is too humble to ask herself.
Meet A.M.:
A.M. is a loving mother of 2 awesome girls and wife to a great husband.
She's a High School Counselor, a Girls Scout leader an amazing person and much more!
She and her family were living the dream, then out of the blue A.M. slowly felt "off" and landed in the hospital.
Many procedures and 7 transfusions later she was diagnosed with "Hepatic Adenoma".
Best treatment - Liver Transplant
While A.M. is managing her illness at the moment, she is actively seeking a liver donor.
By being an organ donor you are allowing your organs to live and give continued life in the world.
Please consider helping this incredible women who brings so much light and love to everyone she meets. You can help her by being a donor candidate or by helping us raise funds to offset the costs of her procedure.
Donor candidates must be blood type-O and under 65. For information on being a liver donor candidate, please contact:
Sheila Drew (401) [phone redacted] [email redacted]
We love A.M. and want her to succeed in this most unfortunate circumstance. Together, with your help, we can get A.M. the liver she badly needs and be able to afford it too. Time is of the essence. She is hoping to find a match and have a transplant this summer. Insurance will only cover the cost of the procedure, but it does not cover the cost of travel, room & board, mandatory aid and assistance for several weeks/months for her and also her her donors possible travel cost and expenses as well. She lives in RI and the procedure for a living donor is only done in Ohio. You can only imagine her family would want to visit her in OH too. If she waits for a donor to have a procedure in Boston, it might be too late, but she remains on that list as well.
Join the A-Team! Please help now, by spreading the word about the need of a liver donor and any amount you can give would help too.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
*Please know that your act of charity (big or small) will help lessen the burden on A.M.'s family. Also please know that we would like to take any leftover, unused funds and help another family in need.
Here's a poem A.M. wrote:
My Organ Donor Poem:
The life I've been given is more than I deserve.
If you are willing, can you put your organs on reserve?
Normally for me speaking to a crowd is no big deal.
I've given eulogies, speeches and presentations to many.
It is just so hard to ask for a new "part" when I can NOT even give you a penny.
My simple story shows Christ working in many ways.
