Hello, my name is Riana Ramanantsalama, and I’m reaching you all to help Mirana's father, from Madagascar during one of the most difficult times for her family. Here is the message from Mirana:
"My father, Rahariniaina Jean De Dieu, a dedicated high school teacher in Madagascar, has spent his life serving others. Since 2010, he has been living with constant pain caused by an inguino-scrotal hernia, but the surgery he needed was always beyond our reach due to financial challenges. In September 2024, his condition worsened to the point of urgency.
With the help of kind friends, he underwent the much-needed surgery, which was successful. However, the recovery process is long and demanding. My family is now facing significant medical bills, follow-up treatments, medications, and daily care expenses.
Living in Madagascar means navigating a healthcare system that provides no safety nets at all — most of families must pay for everything out of pocket, often at great sacrifice. My parents worked tirelessly to ensure my siblings and I could access education, prioritizing our future over their own well-being. It is heartbreaking to see my father, who gave so much to his students and family, now struggling with his health and financial burdens.
So, you may ask why your support really matter? We are seeking $3000 to cover the remaining costs of my father’s surgery and recovery. Your donation will help pay for outstanding medical bills, medications, and follow-up care, and also to reimburse our debt to the friends who helped us. This will allow me to focus on my studies and career in wildlife conservation, inspired by the sacrifices my parents made for my education.
Even a small contribution will bring relief to my family during this challenging time. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help us reach others who can.
Every act of kindness matters. Your support will ease my father’s recovery and allow me to pursue my dreams without the weight of financial worry. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading our story, for sharing, and for helping us through this difficult time.
With deep gratitude,"
