Help Me Bring Hope and Joy to Families and Orphans in Tanzania This Christmas
Hi, my name is Skye, and I’ve recently returned from a life-changing trip to Arusha, Tanzania. It’s a place full of warmth, resilience, and beauty—but also one where many families are living in heartbreaking conditions. What I saw and experienced has stayed with me, and I feel called to go back this Christmas as someone determined to make a real difference.
During my time there, I met families living in homes barely held together, with limited access to clean water, proper meals, or healthcare. I spent time with children who have never received a gift or known the joy of a real Christmas. Some were orphans, others were left in the care of elderly relatives or neighbors, with no consistent support system.
One story that truly broke my heart was of a grandmother I met—a sick and elderly woman who was not only caring for her own grandchildren but also the neighbors’ children after their parents had left. In total, she was looking after five or six kids on her own. Her only source of income being selling chips by the road to school children. Despite her struggles, she welcomed me with a smile. Her strength inspired me, but her situation haunted me. She, like so many others, is doing everything she can with almost nothing.
Tanzania is a country where job opportunities are extremely limited. Most people survive on day-to-day income, and what little they earn often hardly covers rent or bills—leaving nothing for food, education, or emergencies. For many, dreaming of anything beyond survival feels impossible.
This Christmas, I want to go back and bring hope, dignity, and joy. My mission is to:
Help rebuild or repair unsafe homes for families in crisis
Provide food and essentials to those who need it most
Give children, especially orphans, the experience of a joyful Christmas—something many have never known
Support education by providing school supplies and resources
Help struggling caretakers like the grandmother I met, so they can provide a safer, more stable life for the children they love
This is not a big charity mission. This is personal. I’m working directly with locals and social workers to make sure your support goes straight to the people who need it most, no wasted funds.
How you can help:
Donate whatever you can—every single pound truly helps
Share this campaign with others who might want to help
Offer words of encouragement, connections, or ideas to support this cause
My goal is to raise £750 by December so I can return in time to bring real joy, stability, and support to these communities.
Let’s make this Christmas one they’ll never forget, one full of Christmas magic, love and faith.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
With love and gratitude,
Skye
