Diane and Miko are two of the tiniest, most resilient residents at our cat rescue. Diane’s journey began when her mom, Lucille, arrived at The Feline Connection’s foster care program just in time to give birth. Diane, now just 11 weeks old and weighing a little over a pound, faces a life-threatening heart condition called PDA (patent ductus arteriosus). She is already in heart failure and relies on medication to keep her going. Her surgery is scheduled soon, and while the procedure is risky, it’s her only chance at survival. The veterinary team has fallen in love with her, and their compassion gives us hope.
Miko, only seven months old, was diagnosed with a substantial heart murmur and a ventricular septal defect (VSD). While his condition is inoperable, it is less severe than Diane’s. Miko’s prognosis is fair, and with ongoing monitoring and heart medication, we hope he will live a full and healthy life. His heart defect cannot be fixed surgically, but with your support, we can ensure he receives the care he needs.
Our rescue has already committed significant resources to Diane and Miko’s care, while also maintaining ongoing commitments to the 160 other cats currently in our care. We are dedicated to continuing our mission to help homeless cats, and your support will help us provide for Diane, Miko, and all the cats who depend on us every day.
We’ve put everything we have into saving these two hearts—now we need you. Every donation helps us cover Diane’s surgery and Miko’s medical care, while also supporting the 160 other cats who depend on us. Please chip in today to help us continue our mission and give these two kittens, and so many others, the wonderful, full lives they deserve! Your support means the world to us, and to Diane and Miko.
