October 2026 - IMPORTANT UPDATE

Dear friends, ❤️

I am writing to you today with a heart full of hope, but also with the weight of one of the most difficult periods of my life. I sincerely hope I am not asking too much, but the truth is that I really need your support right now.

My family’s home in Gaza was destroyed, and we are still struggling to find a safe and stable place to live. The rent for the place where we are currently staying has become increasingly difficult to afford, and I am deeply worried about what might happen if I can no longer pay it. My greatest fear is that my family could be left without shelter, especially my elderly grandmother, whose health I worry about in these harsh conditions.

At the same time, I am preparing to begin a new chapter in my life: my marriage. I dream of securing a home for my family while also covering some of my wedding expenses, so that I can experience this beautiful moment with the people I love, despite all the pain we have endured.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope to celebrate two moments of happiness: the joy of having a safe home for my family and the joy of getting married and beginning a new life. I dream of having a place where I can start my married life with dignity and give my family some of the safety and stability we have been deprived of for so long.

My dear friends, I want to be completely transparent about something important. The funds raised through previous fundraising campaigns were spent helping families in need in Gaza, supporting people who had lost everything, and helping my own family through the extremely difficult circumstances we have been facing. I have always tried to stand beside others and offer whatever help I could, even when I was struggling with my own difficulties.

Today, however, I find myself in urgent need of your help. I have not been able to secure everything my family needs, and the responsibility of finding a safe home while preparing for my wedding has become an enormous burden.

I would also like to clarify that the current fundraising link is dedicated exclusively to helping my family secure housing and cover my wedding preparations. I have created a new, separate fundraising link for Start X, my initiative dedicated to supporting young people and small businesses in Gaza.

I wanted to separate these two causes with complete transparency, so that everyone knows exactly what their contribution is intended to support.

I understand that life is difficult for everyone, and I never take anyone’s kindness or generosity for granted. But I sincerely hope that those who are able to help will consider contributing, even a small amount, or sharing my message with their friends. Every contribution, no matter how small, can bring me one step closer to securing a home for my family and preparing for my wedding.

I am not asking for a luxurious life. I am simply dreaming of a safe home for my family, a stable beginning to my married life, and a small moment of happiness after everything we have lost.

Vi scrivo oggi con il cuore colmo di speranza, ma anche con il peso di uno dei periodi più difficili della mia vita. Spero sinceramente di non chiedere troppo, ma la verità è che, in questo momento, ho davvero bisogno del vostro sostegno.

La casa della mia famiglia a Gaza è stata distrutta e stiamo ancora cercando, con grande fatica, un luogo sicuro e stabile in cui vivere. L'affitto dell'abitazione in cui ci troviamo attualmente è diventato sempre più difficile da sostenere, e temo profondamente cosa potrebbe accadere se non fossi più in grado di pagarlo. La mia paura più grande è che la mia famiglia possa ritrovarsi senza un tetto, in particolare la mia anziana nonna, la cui salute mi preoccupa molto in queste condizioni così dure.

Allo stesso tempo, mi sto preparando a iniziare un nuovo capitolo della mia vita: il mio matrimonio. Sogno di poter garantire una casa alla mia famiglia e, al contempo, di coprire alcune spese per le nozze, così da poter vivere questo momento meraviglioso insieme alle persone che amo, nonostante tutto il dolore che abbiamo dovuto affrontare.

Dal profondo del mio cuore, spero di poter celebrare due momenti di felicità: la gioia di avere una casa sicura per la mia famiglia e quella di sposarmi, dando inizio a una nuova vita. Sogno un luogo in cui poter cominciare la mia vita coniugale con dignità e offrire ai miei cari un po' di quella sicurezza e stabilità che ci sono state negate per così tanto tempo.

Cari amici, desidero essere del tutto trasparente riguardo a un aspetto importante. I fondi raccolti attraverso le precedenti campagne di solidarietà sono stati utilizzati per aiutare famiglie in difficoltà a Gaza, sostenere persone che avevano perso ogni cosa e supportare la mia stessa famiglia durante le circostanze estremamente complesse che ci siamo trovati ad affrontare. Ho sempre cercato di stare accanto agli altri e di offrire tutto l'aiuto possibile, anche quando io stesso ero alle prese con le mie difficoltà.

Oggi, però, ho un bisogno urgente del vostro sostegno. Non sono riuscito a procurarmi tutto ciò di cui la mia famiglia ha necessità, e la responsabilità di trovare una casa sicura, unita ai preparativi per il matrimonio, è diventata un peso enorme.

Vorrei inoltre chiarire che questa raccolta fondi è destinata esclusivamente ad aiutare la mia famiglia a trovare un'abitazione e a coprire le spese per i preparativi del mio matrimonio. Ho creato un nuovo link, separato, per la raccolta fondi a favore di "Start X", la mia iniziativa dedicata a sostenere i giovani e le piccole attività a Gaza.

Ho voluto tenere distinte queste due cause, nella massima trasparenza, affinché ognuno sappia esattamente cosa andrà a sostenere con il proprio contributo.

So bene che la vita è difficile per tutti e non do mai per scontata la gentilezza o la generosità di nessuno. Tuttavia, spero vivamente che chi ha la possibilità di aiutare possa valutare di contribuire, anche con una piccola somma, o di condividere il mio messaggio con i propri amici. Ogni contributo, per quanto modesto, mi avvicina un passo in più alla possibilità di garantire una casa alla mia famiglia e di prepararmi al mio matrimonio.

Non sto chiedendo una vita nel lusso. Sogno semplicemente una casa sicura per la mia famiglia, un inizio stabile per la mia vita coniugale e un piccolo momento di felicità dopo tutto ciò che abbiamo perduto.

September 04th 2025 - NEW GOAL - NEW PROJECT

Hello dear friends,

We’re working with love and hope on a new project:

We’re setting up a dedicated space for high school and university students — a place with electricity, internet, comfortable study areas, along with training sessions, academic and psychological support, and a safe space for talents to grow.

Our goal is to be a real support system for these youth in the midst of this harsh war, because we truly believe that education is the only path to life and dignity.

Il nostro obiettivo è essere un vero sostegno per questi giovani in mezzo a questa dura guerra, perché crediamo che l'istruzione sia l'unica via per la vita e la dignità.

July 25th 2025 - NEW GOAL - NEW PROJECT

With all of your help, the first goal has been achieved.

We will never stop thanking you all.

As in the July 10th update, the initial plan to raise the funds needed for the family's evacuation and support has been modified.

Hassan has a thousand ideas, and despite the hunger and countless difficulties, even more so recently, the goal is to help others, as well as his family.

There are many projects, but the current one is the following.

I'll leave you with Hassan's words:

“Hello dear friends,

We have launched a new project with a deeply humanitarian goal: to deliver food and sweets to as many children and families in Gaza as possible.

Given the difficult conditions and skyrocketing prices, even the simplest meal has become a dream for many children. Through this project, we aim to:

- Prepare and distribute daily meals.

- Make sweets for children to bring joy to their hearts.

- Organize small events to draw smiles despite the pain.

25 luglio 2025 - NUOVO OBIETTIVO - NUOVO PROGETTO

Con l’aiuto di tutti voi, il primo obiettivo è stato raggiunto.

Non smetteremo mai di ringraziarvi tutti.

Come nell’aggiornamento del 10 luglio, il piano iniziale di raccogliere i soldi necessari per l’evacuazione ed il sostentamento della famiglia, è stato modificato.

Hassan ha mille idee, nonostante la fame e le tantissime difficoltà, ancora di più nell’ultimo periodo, l’obiettivo è quello di aiutare gli altri, oltre che la famiglia.

I progetti sarebbero tanti, ma quello attuale è il seguente.

Vi lascio alle parole di Hassan:

“Cari amici,

abbiamo lanciato un nuovo progetto con un obiettivo profondamente umanitario: consegnare cibo e dolci al maggior numero possibile di bambini e famiglie di Gaza.

Date le difficili condizioni e i prezzi alle stelle, anche il pasto più semplice è diventato un sogno per molti bambini. Attraverso questo progetto, puntiamo a:

- Preparare e distribuire pasti giornalieri.

- Preparare dolci per i bambini per portare gioia nei loro cuori.

- Organizzare piccoli eventi per strappare sorrisi nonostante il dolore.

** Important Update!! ** July 10th 2025

Given the goal is almost reached, it's time to provide an update with the current situation.

Here are Hassan's words:

"Even though the occupation took away my home, my job, my car, and my dreams, I didn't give up.

Thanks to your donations and humanitarian support, during the war I was able to launch several sustainable projects for my family and the people of Gaza, including:

- A beach bar in Khan Yunis

- An internet network serving the Mawasi area

- A small sweet shop

- Collaboration in the construction of a school tent

These projects aimed to support families and provide job opportunities for displaced people, using their meager profits.

Despite the closure of some projects and the theft of some goods, my heart is filled with joy because I tried to rebuild my life from the rubble... and I helped everyone I could.

Thank you for being part of this hope.

This is what I have actually done with your donations, in addition to supporting my family over these months."

All this to say that the initial plan—to raise money for the family's evacuation, subsistence, and support for a new life outside Gaza—has been modified.

The goal has almost been reached, but the donations have also been used for other things, as Hassan explained to us.

"Anche se l'occupazione mi ha portato via la casa, il lavoro, la macchina e i sogni, non mi sono arreso.

Grazie alle vostre donazioni e al vostro sostegno umanitario, durante la guerra ho potuto avviare diversi progetti sostenibili per la mia famiglia e la popolazione di Gaza, tra cui:

- Un bar sulla spiaggia a Khan Yunis

- Una rete internet al servizio della zona di Mawasi

- Un piccolo negozio di dolciumi

- Collaborazione nella costruzione di una tenda scolastica

Questi progetti miravano a sostenere le famiglie e a offrire opportunità di lavoro agli sfollati, utilizzando i loro magri profitti.

Nonostante la chiusura di alcuni progetti e il furto di alcuni beni, il mio cuore è pieno di gioia perché ho cercato di ricostruire la mia vita dalle macerie... e ho aiutato tutti quelli che potevo.

Tutto questo per dire che il piano iniziale – raccogliere fondi per l'evacuazione della famiglia, il suo sostentamento e il suo sostegno per una nuova vita fuori Gaza – è stato modificato.

Hi everyone, I am Hassan Qandil and I'm an engineer from Gaza. I lost my mother in the 2014 war; she was pregnant with my little brother, Salem, and he survived. I took care of him together with my younger brothers. My father was injured in these latest months, and he is in the North. I lost my home and my business office: engineering was my income, my dream, my passion.

Me, my two brothers and my three sisters, whom I support, were displaced to the south to an area that the occupation claims to be safe Now we live in a camp for displaced people in Khan Yunis. My father was unable to join us because he was seriously injured. He stayed on the northern side and now we know nothing about him.

Everything is difficult here; as there is no enough food, no water, no safety, nothing good to live on. For this reason In these last few months I have put my passion and ability back into practice to help my people. With another GFM we designed and built tents for displaced people, with the help of several donations.

I also care a lot about the serenity of children, which is why I organize activities for them, to be able to relieve them from the situation we are experiencing, at least for a few hours.

Every moment and every day we see death and I fear that the occupation will take what is left of my family. All I hope for now is to live safely with my dear ones and this could happen now only by leaving Gaza and starting over.

Your precious help will provide us with the opportunity to rebuild our lives and ensure the safety of my family.

I don't want to lose even more than I have already lost.

Ho perso mia madre nella guerra del 2014; era incinta del mio fratellino, Salem, lui è sopravvissuto. Mi sono preso cura di lui insieme ai miei fratelli minori. Mio padre è stato ferito in questi mesi e si trova al Nord. Ho perso la casa e lo studio: l'ingegneria era il mio reddito, il mio sogno, la mia passione.

Io, i miei due fratelli e le mie tre sorelle, che dipendono economicamente da me, siamo stati sfollati a sud, in un’area che l’occupazione ci dice essere "sicura". Ora viviamo in un campo per sfollati a Khan Yunis. Mio padre non ha potuto rimanere con noi perché era gravemente ferito; è rimasto al Nord e non sappiamo più nulla di lui.

Tutto è difficile qui; non c’è abbastanza cibo, né acqua, né sicurezza, nulla di buono per cui vivere, così in questi mesi ho rimesso in pratica la mia passione e abilità per aiutare il mio popolo. Con un altro GFM abbiamo progettato e costruito tende per gli sfollati, con l'aiuto di diverse donazioni. Ho anche molto a cuore la serenità dei bambini, per questo organizzo attività per loro, per poterli sollevare dalla situazione che stiamo vivendo almeno per qualche attimo.

Ogni giorno vediamo la morte in faccia e temo che l'occupazione si prenderà anche ciò che resta della mia famiglia.

Tutto quello che spero per ora è vivere in sicurezza con i miei cari e questo può accadere solo lasciando Gaza ora e ricominciando da capo.

مرحباً بالجميع، أنا حسن قنديل وأنا مهندس من غزة. لقد فقدت والدتي في حرب 2014؛ وكانت حاملاً بأخي الصغير سالم وقد نجا. لقد اعتنيت به مع إخوتي الصغار. أصيب والدي في الأشهر الأخيرة، وهو في الشمال. لقد فقدت منزلي ومكتب عملي: كانت الهندسة مصدر دخلي وحلمي وشغفي.

أنا وأخواي وأخواتي الثلاثة الذين أدعمهم، نزحوا إلى الجنوب إلى منطقة يدعي الاحتلال أنها آمنة، والآن نعيش في مخيم للنازحين في خان يونس. ولم يتمكن والدي من الانضمام إلينا لأنه أصيب بجروح خطيرة. وبقي في الجهة الشمالية ولا نعرف عنه شيئاً الآن.

كل شيء صعب هنا؛ إذ لا يوجد ما يكفي من الغذاء، ولا الماء، ولا الأمان، ولا شيء جيد للعيش عليه. ولهذا السبب، في الأشهر القليلة الماضية، قمت بإعادة شغفي وقدراتي إلى الممارسة العملية لمساعدة شعبي. بالتعاون مع منظمة GFM أخرى، قمنا بتصميم وبناء خيام للنازحين، بمساعدة العديد من التبرعات.

كما أنني أهتم كثيرًا بهدوء الأطفال، ولهذا أقوم بتنظيم أنشطة لهم، حتى أتمكن من تخليصهم من الوضع الذي نعيشه، على الأقل لبضع ساعات.

في كل لحظة وكل يوم نرى الموت وأخشى أن يأخذ الاحتلال ما تبقى من عائلتي. كل ما أتمناه الآن هو أن أعيش بأمان مع أعزائي، وهذا لا يمكن أن يحدث الآن إلا من خلال مغادرة غزة والبدء من جديد.

إن مساعدتك الثمينة ستوفر لنا الفرصة لإعادة بناء حياتنا وضمان سلامة عائلتي.

Hola a todos, soy Hassan Qandil y trabajo como ingeniero en Gaza. Perdí a mi madre en la guerra de 2014; ella estaba embarazada de mi hermano pequeño, Salem, y él sobrevivió. A partir de ese momento, cuidé a él y a mis hermanos menores. Mi padre resultó herido en estos meses y se quedó en el Norte. Mis dos hermanos, mis tres hermanas y yo fuimos desplazados hacia el sur, a una zona que la ocupación afirma ser segura. Ahora vivimos en un campo de desplazados en Khan Yunis. Mi padre no pudo venir con nosotros, porque las graves condiciones de sus heridas no lo permitieron. Se quedó en el lado norte y ahora no sabemos nada de él.

Aquí todo es difícil, como no hay suficiente comida, ni agua, ni seguridad, ni nada por lo que merece la pena vivir.

Por eso, en estos meses, he tirado de mi pasión y de mis habilidades para ayudar a mi gente. Con el soporte de otro GFM, hemos proyectado y construido carpas para los desplazados, mediante muchas donaciones. Intento proteger y fomentar la serenidad de los niños, por lo que organizo actividades para ellos, con la esperanza de sacarlos de la realidad que estamos viviendo, aunque fuese por unas horas.

Cada momento y cada día vemos la muerte y temo que la ocupación se va a llevar lo que queda de mi familia.

De momento, lo único que espero es poder vivir seguro con mi familia, pero esto sólo podría ocurrir si salgo ahora de Gaza y vuelvo a empezar de cero.

La ayuda que puedes brindarnos nos ofrecerá la oportunidad de reconstruir nuestras vidas y garantizar la seguridad de nuestra familia.
